Social Media Editor and Editorial Assistant
Job Description:
Hali Publications Ltd. seeks a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join our team in a dual role encompassing social media management, content creation and editorial support. This position requires creative flair, strategic thinking and a commitment to high editorial standards across print and digital platforms. The ideal candidate will be a graduate with an interest in the arts and design sector, a demonstrable interest in digital media who is willing to represent the company at events, and willing to learn. This is a good opportunity for a role in an established specialist arts publisher in the process of expanding into the digital sphere.
I. Social Media:
Manage HPL’s proprietary social media channels, newsletters and websites, collaborating with editorial, art and sales departments.
Develop and execute digital editorial strategies, including content scheduling, client approvals, and performance monitoring to drive readership and engagement.
Manage client social media accounts, ensuring brand alignment and effective campaign development.
Grow audience reach and website traffic, responding to all external communications promptly.
Produce compelling newsletters and generate performance reports to inform marketing strategies.
Maintain high editorial and visual standards for all digital content, adhering to house style.
Collaborate with sales for sponsored content, brand partnerships and advertising client liaison.
Analyse new digital approaches and adapt strategies based on data, utilizing paid social tools like Facebook Ads Manager.
Stay current with digital trends and algorithmic updates.
II. Editorial Assistant:
Provide comprehensive editorial and administrative support to the COVER magazine editorial team.
Conduct editorial research and write articles for publication.
Contribute content for both print and digital publications.
Proactively develop and maintain specialist knowledge related to HPL's publications.
Proofread publishing projects to ensure accuracy and quality.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
Exceptional copywriting skills.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
An interest in the design and arts sector, and portfolio of creative work.
1-2+ years experience in digital/social marketing or brand social management, preferably.
Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends and best practices.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Profound passion for social media and community building.
Desirable Attributes:
Familiarity with content scheduling, social listening and audience growth tools.
This is a full-time role based in the East London office for an immediate start.
Salary: £28-30,000 pa.
